Canon C700 MXF in FCP X and Premiere Pro CC Editing Tips
Q: Canon C700 – Final Cut Pro X – How much longer do we have to wait???
“The Canon C700 has been around long enough now that importing footage into Final Cut Pro X should be a given. I am perplexed that footage can be imported into Adobe Premiere and Resolve with no problems for the past couple of months but still no word at all from Apple when Final Cut Pro X will import the cameras footage. Surely this is such a basic request? I don’t think Final Cut Pro X can import 12 bit footage of any kind. This is a serious shortcoming and a major disappointment.”
Q: C700 Footage Import Issues?
“Hi all, my team and I rented a C700 for a project. I’ve read around the web that some FCP users were encountering issues importing files. I just use it in Premiere, and now i also meet the problem to import them, any ideas?”
Anyone know how to import Canon C700 4k XF-AVC media into FCPX/Premiere Pro CC? Here displays an easy and direct way of converting Canon C700 4K Video to ProRes 422 for use in FCP 7, FCP X or Premiere Pro CC with optimum performance.
Put Canon’s mastery of image processing into a cinema-grade production-ready form factor and you get the EOS C700 Cinema Camera. This version of the C700 comes stocked with Canon’s EF lens mount with a positive-locking mechanism, minimizing play found in traditional spring-loaded bayonet-style mounts. Beyond the lens mount is the first stop in the C700′s imaging pipeline, the 4.5K CMOS image sensor. With a physical resolution exceeding that of DCI 4K and a dynamic range of approximately 15 stops, the C700 is ready for today’s 4K and HDR productions. The C700 is capable of 4K recording at 60p to CFast 2.0 cards using the XF-AVC format.
Recording file format: XF-AVC (Material eXchangeFormat (MXF))
