Import DJI Phantom 4 Pro 4K Videos to Premiere Elements

“I have previously been using been film editing in Adobe Premiere Elements 14 at 1080p. Along with the new P4 Pro I have now purchased a new PC easily capable of editing in 4K along with a 4K monitor so I’m all set for. But the result is that Adobe Premiere elements 14 just stutters in 4K at 60fps. Any solution?”

The Phantom 4 Pro has a maximum flight time of 30 minutes, providing more time in the air to capture the perfect shot. Whereas, when users try to import the 4K footage from DJI Phantom 4 Pro to Premiere Elements, problems always occurred as above.

From its specs, we know Phantom 4 Pro can capture 4K videos in H.264 or H.265 codec. The problem is, H.264/H.265 encoded 4K file format from Phantom 4 Pro is beyond the compatibility of Adobe Premiere Elements(including the latest version PE 15). Something else, Premiere Elements now can handle 4K files without much problem, but it is extremely hardware intensive. In most cases, editing 4K in Premiere Elements is very taxing on your computer. In order to work Phantom 4 Pro 4K footage in Adobe Premiere Elements smoothly, a better way is to transcode Phantom 4 Pro 4K to a more “edit” friendly codec and 1080p would be the best settings.

The process is surprisingly easy and can be done with the help of UFUWare 4K Video Converter for Mac. Overall, this video conversion program can effortlessly encode/re-encode 4K H.265, H.264, MP4, MOV, XAVC, XAVC S, etc footage for smoothly importing and editing in various non-linear editing systems (NLE), including Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, FCE and more.
