Import GoPro Hero 3+ H.264 MP4 to Final Cut Pro X/7/6 on Mac OS X

I have a Go Pro Hero 3+ Black, and I bought is for Home use primarily, but do DVDs for friends and school. Now after shooting some mp4 scenes about family and kayaking water sports etc from my Gopro.  It seems that Final Cut Pro does not support any content in the folder/disk.  So I plan to convert Go Pro footage to Final cut pro for editing with best quality footage. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition Camera is 20% smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the HERO3. It also features faster built-in Wi-Fi than the HERO3. The HERO3+ is designed for recording a variety of adventure sports and it comes with a rugged housing that is waterproof down to a depth of 131′ (40m). The camera captures 4K Cinema, 2.7K Cinema, 1440p and Full HD 1080p video. It can shoot 960p and 720p video as well. The camera supports both NTSC and PAL video systems, and it can record up to 120 frames per second (fps) when shooting in 720p mode. For still images, the HERO3+ supports up to 12MP photos with a burst rate of up to 30 fps.

As MP4 format from GoPro Hero 3+ is not encoded with H.264/MPEG-4 codec, users may encounter problems when load MP4 footage from GoPro Hero 3+ to Final Cut Pro X/7/6 . So what is the best way to import and edit GoPro Hero 3+ MP4 files in Final Cut Pro X/7/6?
