Import and Edit Sony TD30V 3D AVCHD MTS files in iMovie/FCE

How can I import and edit Sony TD30V 3D AVCHD MTS files in iMovie/FCE?

“My wife bought me a Sony HDR-TD30V Handycam last month. It recorded video files in 3D AVCHD format, with .mts file extension. I tried to import these Sony TD30V 3D MTS clips to iMovie/FCE for editing on my MacBook Pro, but always got problems. iMovie/FCE seemed not to work well with TD30V 3D files. Is there a way to make Sony TD30V 3D AVCHD footage full compatible with iMovie/FCE? Does anyone know what I can possibly do??? I would really appreciate any help. Thank you so much!”

The Sony HDR-TD30V HD 3D Handycam Camcorder features two 20.4MP Exmore R CMOS sensors and dual, stereoscopic Sony G lenses, a configuration designed for capturing true 1920 x 1080 3D video. The TD30V is capable of recording 1080/60p and 24p in 2D and 3D. The 3.5″ Xtra Fine LCD display has 1229K resolution and allows users to monitor and playback 2D/3D footage without glasses.Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode compensates for camera shake to deliver smooth video in 2D and 3D.

However, while the users enjoy the videos they capture, they will be frustrated with the error message while trying to impot the Sony HDR-TD30V 3D AVCHD to iMovie/FCE. As far as we know, owing to the video codec and computer operating environment, 3D AVCHD is hardly supported by iMovie/FCE.

The most compatible video codec for iMovie/FCE editing is Apple InterMediate Codec, thus the easiest way to make Sony HDR-TD30V 3D MTS be supported by iMovie/FCE is to find a professional third party program to transcode the 3D videos first before importing to iMovie/FCE.

Here UFUWare Sony HDR-TD30V 3D MTS Converter Mac is highly recommended to you which can help you to convert the 3D AVCHD videos from Sony HDR-TD30V without quality loss.
